Our Sustainable Efforts

At Van der Valk Hotel Leusden-Amersfoort, we believe that even small efforts can make a big difference in terms of sustainability. That's why we strive to contribute in an optimal way to reducing our ecological footprint in and around our hotel, without compromising our hospitality. We are convinced that hospitality and sustainable business go hand in hand. We are proud to announce that, as one of the largest hospitality family businesses in the Netherlands, we aim to set an example and truly make a difference.

Some sustainable initiatives implemented by Van der Valk Hotel Leusden-Amersfoort contribute to an environmentally friendly and conscious business operation:

1. Housekeeping and hotel rooms:

   • Conscious use of linen and towels: Our staff is trained to handle the changing of linen and towels carefully, thus saving water and energy.

   • Water saving in the bathroom: Our bathrooms are equipped with water-saving facilities to reduce water consumption.

   • Energy-efficient lighting: We use LED and energy-saving lamps in the hotel rooms to save energy.

2. Paper usage:

   • Double-sided printing: Internal paper usage is minimized by printing documents on both sides.

   • Environmentally friendly printing: Our brochures, leaflets, and other printed materials, including invoices, are printed on paper with an internationally recognized environmental certification.

   • Digital communication: In order to reduce paper consumption, we send confirmations and invoices via email as much as possible.

3. Waste Separation:

   • Environmentally conscious waste management: We have implemented a rigorous waste separation system, where all waste is carefully separated and recycled.
